No. Our core principle is 'Your Files, Your Control'. We only manage metadata (tags, descriptions, etc.) and small previews/thumbnails. Your original large 3D model files (STL, 3MF, ZIP, etc.) remain securely on your connected Google Drive, Dropbox, NAS, or uploaded directly from your device.
We use industry-standard secure protocols like OAuth 2.0 for cloud services (Google Drive, Dropbox) and require encrypted credentials for others like WebDAV. We only request the minimum permissions needed to list files and access metadata. Temporary secure links might be used for preview generation, but your files aren't permanently copied to our servers.
Yes! Standard WebDAV protocol support is planned for the initial MVP launch, allowing connection to most modern NAS devices. Native, optimized applications for popular platforms like Synology DSM and QNAP QTS are targeted for Phase 2 of our roadmap for an even smoother experience.
Our initial MVP launch will focus on robust integration with Etsy. Support for eBay and Leboncoin is planned for Phase 2. We will prioritize adding further marketplaces based directly on feedback from our early adopters and survey respondents.
Direct 3D printer API integration (e.g., for Elegoo, Ender series via OctoPrint/Klipper) and connections to print-on-demand fulfillment services are definitely on our long-term roadmap (Phase 3+). This is a complex area, and we'll prioritize specific integrations based on user demand.
MeshSync extracts technical metadata from your model files (dimensions, format, complexity hints if available). It combines this with your custom tags and categories within our platform. Our AI engine then uses this rich data to generate draft descriptions and keyword suggestions optimized for the specific algorithms and best practices of each target marketplace (Etsy, eBay, etc.). You always have final review and editing control.
API changes are a reality. Our backend is built using Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles with modular adapters for each marketplace. This makes it significantly easier and faster for us to update specific integrations without breaking the core system. We also actively monitor marketplace developer channels for upcoming changes to be proactive.

With experience as a Technical Architect and DevSecOps professional at companies like Capgemini in the industrial aeronautical sector, Dassault Systèmes, and currently the CEA (Commissariat à l'énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives, working on Industry 4.0 challenges).
Combined with his firsthand experience as an active Etsy seller of 3D models and prints, Jordane deeply understands the creator's pain points. MeshSync was born from this unique blend of deep technical expertise and real-world marketplace challenges, aiming to deliver the powerful, integrated automation tools he wished he had.
